ASCE has released The Vision for Civil Engineering in 2025, a report on the 2006 gathering of civil engineering leaders, the Summit on the Future of Civil Engineering—2025. The summit was convened last June to articulate an aspirational global vision for the future of the civil engineering profession. This new report reflects the creativity and innovative spirit of the Summit Steering Committee and the summit participants. The report outlines the highly interactive process followed during the summit and presents the summit's results. Vision 2025 is also a call to action for individuals and organizations to come forward to help achieve the vision's goals. Civil engineers came to the gathering to choose their profession’s future rather than let others decide it for them.
